Topic: Sticking throttle valve, how to solve?

1978 CB750K

Just took the carbs apart and cleaned them in the ultrasonic box.  Used the aircraft simple green and water.

While putting them back together, one of the throttle valves does not want to slide back in.  I can't see any issues as of yet.

I can force it in but I am sure it would throttle hang.

Any suggestions for getting it to slide properly?  I have already tried some 0000 fine steel wool, but hasn't helped yet.

Is it in the correct body?
Is it the correct way round?
Is the peg in the body locating in the slot in the slide?

Yes, I assume so, they all match, I can only assume they came on the bike (PD42B).
Yes, correct way in the throttle slide opening.

I do not see a locating peg in these.

I tried some fine sandpaper just a bit, and it seems to have fixed the issue.  I need to clean it up good before trying again.

You try swapping another one in there.

At least that will tell you if the body is off or the slide. Then you know what needs attention.

I just built a set, that only wanted to go back together with the bodies they came out of.
