I’m posting a few pictures, for Don R. This bike came from a Bonhams Auction, in California, several years ago. My best friend’s brother brought it for his collection of WW1 bikes, cars and trucks. It’s from the Bud Ekins Collection. It was totally original, “as found”. I restored it for him after it arrived here.
    It was missing the tool box cover, one bolt, two washers, two spokes and a throttle cable. I replaced those parts, and then refurbished every single component. I had it running nicely, before dismantling. Since the restoration, it has never been started, but mostly kept in his living room. The wooden cork for a fuel cap is not original, but so cool I gave it a coat of urethane and left it. Tires and tubes are new. The last picture was pick up at Canada Customs. I thought he was nuts!
    In my living room now. Enjoy looking at it, but will ultimately be for sale......

P.S. the bicycle hand grips and rubber tubing on the foot pegs (automotive heater hose) are also new. Took me for ever to find these items stamped “Made in the USA””!

What is that protruding out the back of the engine along the bottom run of the chain ? nice job on it.

It’s the magneto, driven off the mainshaft of the transmission (two speed), via a leather flexible coupling!

Thank you, I had run out of ideas,

Here’s more detail than “1000 words”! Notice no crankshaft. The connecting rod hangs off a concentric pin on the flywheel. Detail of two speed gearbox too. It’s a brilliant design.

It is! Looking at the drawing I realized my bike is missing the little megaphone exhaust pipe. I may have to make one.
