Sandcast on BAT
« on: October 06, 2022, 03:28:52 PM »
I've been watching the sale but not closely. Is there a reason this one seems to be bidding low or is this the market these days?

Edit; After a better look, rusted exhaust, not running, wrong tires but it appears to be mostly there. It sold for $19,500.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

This is an original unrestored bike with rust, dirt, defects.
Mopar Rob and Talia were having a dispute at the finish line.
Get your hands off my sandcast.  Your sandcast ?  Like hell you say!
I cannot believe some paid $19.5k for it, I could have bough two for $10k in 2019.

Wasn't that the same $$ value?

Yes, pretty close.
A sandcast is a sandcast, the buyer has just started spending cash to get it back to good or better condition.

That bike supposedly “ran” on a remote fuel supply. Maybe someone planning to run it in “original condition”. With some attention to detail, could be a good call......

Says it went for 19.5k
It has some issues, corrosion on the exhaust being a big one.
I guess that’s what it takes to get a running sandcast 750 in so so shape these days.
Mostly complete.

Gosh......I turned down $12.5K for mine when it looked like this (it also ran on “the bottle” and exhaust was “rough”). I thought I was being stupid, but I know I’ll never see another one!

Agreed! As soon as the beautiful weather ends, I’ll get back on it…… Fall has been stunning here.

Wow. That looks amazing John!  Did you rechrome the front fender? Is the caliper painted?

Yes to both questions. See my “project thread”. Both fenders, instrument bottom caps, and both rims, went to Cambridge Custom Chrome. Calliper is the same engine paint I use….
