Hmmmmm, extensive frame mods or a completely custom built frame....sounds interesting, you've got my attention.... ;D ;)

timbo - I am sure I will do a build thread on that bike as well. It's hard for me to keep up with my threads though. So I am sure some sort of thread will happen, but it may not be a very thorough thread.

Retro - I am thinking completely custom frame, and swingarm.

Syscrush, The TB's that I am using are 40mm. They will support plenty of power at that size. I have plans on building this motor pretty stout as Retro has described in his plan.
I understand. My question is if they're too big. I expect that if you put a set of 40mm CV carbs on that bike, it would be very difficult to get the carburetion dialed in - although I could be wrong.

On EFI setups are there issues associated with going too big on the TB ID? I know that if the injectors are too big it can be hard to tune for idle and part-throttle, but for airflow maybe it doesn't matter.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

 Carbs rely on velocity and vacuum to pull the fuel into the air stream, fuel injection doesn't, so a big throttle body isn't as big a problem as an oversized carb. So you are correct, airflow isn't as big of a deal with efi.

Jerry, I'm fairly certain Larry is running mechanical fuel injection on his bike, not EFI. I may be wrong but it Doubtful he knows much about a full electronic fuel injection system. It was a good thought nevertheless.  My current plan is to put EFI on the new 4.60 index project bike using a Maxx ECU system. I was curious about how the forum members made out on the SOHC 750 setup.

I think I'll start a thread when I begin installing the electronic EFI on my 4.60 index dragbike project. Unfortunately some of what I'll be doing will entail using individual Lectron carbs converted to use fuel injectors and not a rack of throttle bodies from a modern bike like those previously outlined in the beginning of this thread. Plus I won't be utilizing a charging system as required  for street riding. The rest of the concept will be the same.
