I have no experience but it seems like a logical material chioce. Would those fit in a 750K caliper?

I don't personally have one of these. But, when I need a piston I will be getting one.

The person on ebay that makes/sells these is a member of this board and one hell of a stand up guy. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with him while working out issues on my '76 400F and he has always been willing to provide (good) guidance.

Hey Chippy.
Most of the automotive manufactures have used Phenolic pistons at some time...they do work well as they don't transfer nearly as much heat to the brake fluid as a metal one does. They are lighter and reduce unsprung weight...though I doubt that was the reason they used them.
They do have some issues with swelling and sticking...seems to be a long term problem...We had to replace the pistons on our entire fleet of Jeep Cherokees at about 4 years. That was in the late 90s so maybe the materials are better now.

I've also had one about a year.  No issues at all.  Works fine.

I've got access to a state-university funded machine shop with a unlimited supply of materials.  I'd be curious to try making a piston.  Numerous phenolic grades are available, as are other things.  Anyone know the dimensions offhand?
