Ravesi Racing Cams
« on: November 08, 2022, 09:31:27 AM »
Trying to gather as much history as I can about my Great Uncle, Dominic Ravesi, who used to make racing cams out of Billerica, MA back in the 60/70s.

Do any of you have any experience with his racing parts or have any information about him? Good or bad haha.

Thank you in advance!

Maybe Mike Rieck can help. Mike is the top tuner of these bikes and lives just south of Billerica.

I'm not sure if he will get your message. I think you have to have made 10 posts or more before you can send messages but I'm not 100% sure.
I'll message him myself and ask him to look in on your post.

I’m a bit northwest of him near Hudson, MA but it’s not far from Ashland at all.

Moving is a slow process Sam.....I am starting to gather and pack up my stuff. My wife will wait until the last minute and hopefully at that point I get to purge and throw half of her stuff in a dumpster as she is unable to do it herself. ;)

Not moving very far then Mike, anywhere near Manchester ?
I don't know if you remember when you stayed with me but you flew into Manchester UK and our Manchester is over 2,000 years old.
Are you able to help this guy with his family who made cams in MA ?

I'm looking into it brother. You never met Leon but he is a unbelievable wealth of CB info. Actually I didn't know him until u left etc. He is good friend swith Gilbert, Rick etc etc etc. I built him an 836 turbo engine. If you ever saw his "stuff". I took Christian to his house several times and I said ...."look at all the stuff he has"....Christian said...."you still have a lot of stuff too dad."

I know Steve and I knew the previous owner of that home/shop. There was a tremendous amount of Japanese parts stored there. On a positive note....I just spoke with my friend and he says he has an original Ravesi cam catalog that Kevin can have for free. I just have to take a ride to get it. ;)

Sam.....YOU are the man!. I picked the material today and it is a literal treasure trove. Hand typed letters from 1984 etc. 1 pic of Ferracci on a Honda drag bike. 2 other pics of a fella that owned the Honda store in the city I lived in.....a block away from my high school. Brings back a lot of memories.
