Importing a Motorcycle to the USA
« on: November 10, 2022, 12:43:55 PM »
Has anyone ever imported a +45 year old bike from Canada to the USA? Selling my Benelli to a guy in Florida and carriers are suggesting 2.5-2.75% duty is applied. Any experiences?

This bike sold through Cosmopolitan Motors originally and was titled in Pennsylvania until 8-9 years ago when it was legally imported to Canada.

I am pretty sure that is incorrect.
I was looking at importing a few vintage two strikes from Japan a few years ago and there was no duty due on vintage (25+ years) motorcycles.
I'd like to know what you find out as there is a bike in Canada that I would like to bring to the USA.

Kevin..... appears there is no duty on bikes that were original,y manufactured in the USA are freeand offshore bikes less than 500 cc........

So my 1916 Cleveland single can go back for free, the the 750 SEI will be anot2.5% duty. Google “importing a motorcycle to the USA from Canada”. There’s a pretty good US Customs page of info.
