Shipping a Motorcycle (Canada to USA)
« on: November 17, 2022, 11:44:37 AM »
I just sold my Benelli 750 SEI to a gentleman in Florida. He contacted Mackie and TFX. The quotes were equally high and the broker charges associated with them were even more. In addition, Canadian “Snowbirds” have the slots booked well into 2023! The deal was fading fast....

Then he contacted “UShip.com”. In less then 48 hours a fellow from Ontario showed up with a big, 4-wheel drive dually, hauling a very clean, all aluminum, enclosed trailer. Bike locked into the wheel chock in the V nose portion of the trailer. He tied it down very nicely and took three boxes of spares as well. His broker called with a few questions and that was it..... Gone this morning. The total bill appears to be 25-30% less than the other quotes and it will be there in 3-4 days. I’m impressed. As an aside, 4” of snow didn’t slow him down even a bit.

I’ll report back on the outcome, but seems like a great option. John D.

P.S. My bank reported 100% of the payment is locked in my account, before the bike was picked up.

Guy gets down to Florida he may want to stay awhile ! Glad its gone so smooth so far. Used to be that kind of corny and contrived U-Ship television show on here in the states at one time. Wonder if its still around ?

Hey John... Uship.com is based down here in Austin, TX, I've used them many times over the years for cars and bikes.  They are a broker and their system is like a reverse-auction, the bids come in high and then shippers send lower bids to get your shipment over the course of a week. But, you can accept a bid at anytime.

Did the bike have a title?  My buddy bought a Chevelle in Canada, I helped him get it registered down here, was not an easy process.

Just in case you don't have enough to worry about,
Look up their history/experience if you uship. I recovered a bike that Momo shipped through them, the guy went too cheap with a big dodge truck, no experience, no other loads and only got the bike from Denver to Illinois before running out of gas money. He also broke/lost the windshield off the Pacific Coast, I'm not sure how he tied the tupperware bike down. I couldn't figure it out and just rode it home after we stole it out of the guys garage. (I expected to talk to police at some point) didn't happen.
Larry's seller said the dude showed up with a couple straps and a 4 wheel drive dodge gasser, he gave the guy a third strap and away it went. Later, Larry had a reputable shipper come here to get it. It was so nasty I washed and waxed it for him, later one of the guys here noticed the difference in the pics I posted. lol.

Registered here and I had the original Penn. title too. No issues.
