After cleaning up Sharpie paint on the alt cover, I taped it off and sprayed VHT paint, this appears to work much better.

I used Acetone on paper towels with a 1/2" scraper to get the paint off the letters. Will clean up some more in a few days once the paint is cured better.

I've used the paint pen but didnt have that issue. Maybe you have a bad one?

I have a yellow paint pen that marks the verything in the shop (and tires too) permanently. I’ll check the type and see if they make black.....

Just my thoughts on the 4in1
The K7 I bought had 4in4 and they where so rusted they fell apart when removed
was thinking of a replacement OEM look a like and made the decision to get a 4in1
DELKAVIC S/S and thinking it was a good choice
The sound is like Viagra to me . Just love the sound of a 4 inline
and it's not loud when its running in the garage at all
Looks good fits the era of the seventy's style

So for the cleaning of the bikes
I bought a steam cleaner from Amazon and it's cheap and HOT
it gets in to all the small places the can't be cleaned any other way
in and around the head and spark plug holes are tough
With this steamer the grease and grime just run's of and squeaky clean

My other most used too is my home made Vapor Blaster cabinet
What fits in the cabinet goes in and comes out clean
Rubber-aluminum-bolt's -nut's -Plastic you name it cleans it all
Rim's hubs fork lower legs any thing
Best tool i have ever made

Installed new Honda rubber air box runners today........black metal brackets on top of filter box removed and cleaned up, ready for paint.

Should get my head today and cylinders next week, hopefully.....

It is always nice with a just cleaned and restored head

I see that 392 is upside down as the 392 head I have. Interesting. 300 heads have the number differently.

What exactly was done to the head? It has been my experience that a good valve good is imperitive to a good, smooth running motor.

New valves (old style), new springs, new keepers(old style) and of course the valves seats were cut(serdi valve job).
New valve guides, viton oil seals and some light porting on the intake side.

Blasted clean as well.

A little bit of a set back....my cylinders have been at a local machine shop for just over 3 weeks. Machine shop called today and said they could bore, but could not hone because it would not fit properly in his machine.

He was concerned that he could break off some fins.

I told him not to do anything, I would go pick it up.

Now to find someone else...............Going to talk to another local shop on Wednesday afternoon.

denward,have you called any local motorcycle dealership/repair shops to ask who is an actual 'Powersports Machinist' that does mainly Japanese motorcycle machine work who they would recommend;I've had 50/50 results on that myself.. as it depends on the area you're from.

What area do you live in? We may have another member who knows someone not far from there they can recommend.

Near Raleigh, NC.
I'm going to visit a Walker Auto Parts machine shop tomorrow. They have been there about 45+ years and said they could do it, and could bore to the specs I provide.
I'm going to make sure of that before I leave it with them.

Left my cylinders/new pistons at a different machine shop today. Talked with the guy that said "I do all the cylinder boring here, and have done a lot of motorcycle cylinders".

I gave him the target spec for clearance after honing is .0008", he said "sounds tight, but will do if that is what you want".

Hopefully will turn out ok, will find out I guess.
