^Kinda, but not really.  I've only hit 7-7.5K RPM a couple of times in 2nd gear, came close in 3rd.

I live in a populated area with lots of traffic, so I have to pick my times and spots. 

I plan to do that when I am able to get it out in the "country" with no side streets and such.

A few weeks ago I pulled away from a stop sign and started going through the gears, and about midway through 3rd, a car pulled out in front of me (about a 1/4 of mile in front of me), so had to back off.

I have not had the throttle wide open yet through any gears, don't have the nerve around here.

Decided not to paint for now, mostly sitting in the corner since I started on the 550.

However, I did take it out for a ride today, first time in about 3 months since being ran.

This thing still runs great, felt good to ride again, little cool with 62 degrees F ambient.

Lucky you! Truly miserable here today and our road is ankle deep in mud. Be a while yet for me.

I'm happy if a ride can be true in a month and a half from now.
Not enough that all roads with the surroundings are ice and snow free.
All gravel that has been used on smaller roads have to be brushed away by special trucks that will "harvest" it.

April with melting snow beside roads that become wet, frosty night will freeze it. Not a nice surprise can happen on dark curvy roads with dense forest close to the road.

Did about 45-50 miles today and finally opened it up a bit, went to redline a couple of times in 2nd and 3rd gears.

Little over 1200 miles since rebuild.

Bike is running great, love to ride this thing.

Thinking I may paint it black this fall, but will look closely at the various shades of red before I default to black.

So, little update; been thinking of paint for as long as I have owned it.  The paint on the tank looks ok from 10 feet, but closer it is actually in bad shape.

Decided to go ahead with paint to get the side covers to match and get rid of the big gold stripe. 

I have the following paint ordered:

Instead of getting the normal 1978 CB750K decals for the tank with the blue strip, decided to get the police special decal for the tank, to eliminate the big gold stripe:

Got the side covers sanded and primed today, and will start on the tank in the next few days.  Will post pictures when appropriate.

Tank is stripped, hope to get it primed early next week.  We haven't had any rain in about a month or so, and next week looks like we could get some a couple of days.

Paint supplies were delivered yesterday, so ready to go now.  Waiting on decals to show up.

What color is this one going to be and what paint do you plan to use?

Mid 60s to 70s this coming week, with occasional rain, so at least have to wait for a good day to seal/prime it.  May have to wait a few days for the paint.
