Picked up this cb750k4 in New Orleans. Slowly taking it apart and getting back to being road worthy. Not a restoration. Just usable and plan to ride it.

Facebook groups are an unorganized chaos of information so I needed to go back to what I’m used too (from 15 or so years ago) online forums were the best.

Welcome to SOHC4!   Agreed, "Fakebook" is a mess and idiots give out bad info just to post something.

Your bike looks like a very nice example, hard to see beyond the bike but do you have the original exhaust too?

Highly suggest you start a thread in "project shop" area, we can follow along and answer any questions you may have.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard
You came to the right place.
The paint looks good on your bike. Hopefully the inside is good too.

Original exhaust indeed HM341 stamped!

I will be starting a project thread on it and try to get it from the beginning to now.

The tank paint looks good, might be a respray. the inside condition on not the best, failed liner and rust...thank goodness for electrolysis.

I have a tank on a project bike that someone kreemed. It has a spot that looks like it is failing so I did an electrolysis cleaning on it but it didn't remove the liner at all.

Oh, yea same here!! I did an acetone bath with a plumbing fitting to seal the neck and rotated it every day to get every surface and it all dissolved into nothing. Now there's just the rust that was behind the liner!
