Atlanta Dragway

I saw on Mike Finnegan's facebook page they are demolishing the tower today at the former Atlanta Dragway. It's sad to see all these tracks going away forever.

I just shared that on my page. It wasn't easy to see that picture.  Fortunately we got to compete at the last event before the track shutdown a few years ago. It was the Division 2 team bracket finals. I made many passes down that track over the past 25 years so it felt like watching the funeral of an old friend. Another one lost in the name of corporate downsizing and progress.

I watched a video on it, they said once the Winston sponsorship was over, the track wasn't able to make a profit.
