Sprocket cover on a '78 K painted or polished?
« on: December 10, 2022, 12:30:29 PM »
Is the '78 CB750K sprocket cover supposed to be painted or can it be polished like the other side covers?

Mine appears to be painted, not sure if it came that way or PO did it.

From the factory, it was bare brushed aluminum and then clear coated to make it shiny...same finish as the valve cover and other engine side covers
If it works good, it looks good...

I polish most of them but my K7 was painted, so I left it...... decent photo, it will expand.

Thanks, I searched and have viewed a lot of pictures, and it appears the 77-78 mostly were painted.

I do realize these are old and have gone through multiple hands as well.  I may end up just painting mine (same as cases) because it is easier.
