350 Four Upper Brake Line
« on: December 14, 2022, 06:47:05 PM »
Looking to purchase brake line set for 73 CB350 Four. Original handlebars, top line measures 13.5" tip of banjo to tip of banjo. 4into1 list top line is 15.5oa but also has top hose for 75-76 400F at 13.5oa. Anyone know if their measurements are accurate?
TIA

Take your measurements (and banjo types) to Z1 Enterprises' website. They have lots of brake hoses and parts, I've used them several times to fix these bikes when Honda didn't have the stuff.
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

It seems by measurement what I need is top line for 75-76 400F. 4into1 list this as 13.5" which is exactly what my original hose measures with stock 350 Four bars.

Unless your the original owner of this bike the bars could have been changed, as the CB400F has a lower bar set than the CB350F from the factory IIR. There is a couple of inches difference in the rise.
Check with 4into1 by email and they will measure the brake line, yet my experience with them is what they list is what you get length wise in my past purchases.

Bought from a friend who was original owner, bars never changed. Bike was completely original with exception of exhaust which was replaced with Honda 400F 4 into 1.
Thanks I will email them.

I have the 4into1 brake line set for a stock 400F on the shelf. The top line is about 13.5 WITHOUT the banjos. With he Banjos screwed into each end it's about 15".
PS: For a stock 75-76 400F I personally think the kit's top line is to long. But, for 1977 Honda put higher bars. So it might be good for that year.

Be sure you are talking end to end or center to center.

Is there a convention as to measuring brake lines? I would think center to center would be the most accurate.

I'm thinking of laying my existing lines out on a board take a picture with dimensions and send to Apex. I assume they will know what the correct fitting is going into the hard line.

Either ctr to ctr or end to end it almost the same measurement. If you considder that the distance from the center of the banjo to the outer end is only about 1/2cm.

Anyway I'm finding that the length needed from m/c on a stock 75 or 76 CB400F handlebar to three-way connector underneath the headlight is only about 24cm or 10 inches.

Thank you this makes sense considering the difference in handlebar rise between the 2 and validates the discrepancy on 4into1's stated  dimensions. Their return email to me was the lengths are as stated and match original to bike.

FWIW received brake line kit from 4into1, I ordered kit for 75-76 400F and top line fits perfect on my stock handlebar 350 Four.
