CB550 Motor/Frame access?
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:48:04 PM »
Will I have no problem getting the head on the motor if the cases and cylinder head are already in the frame?

I will have the cases and cylinder head in the frame, can I still get the head on the motor? Should I wait to get the whole motor buttoned up before putting it in the frame?
Really want to start buttoning her up, but still need to mess with the head and cam-

I’d wait until the whole enchilada is ready to install. That way you can lay the engine on it’s side and drop the frame over it to install in the frame without the risk of scratching the paint.

If you can’t wait, fear not. Your head will still slip under the top tube and install no problems at all.

I took off the head and the cylinders with the motor in the frame without any problem.
There's plenty of space:
