Anything connected with SprayMax is an excellent product.  I always use their 2K clear, once cured it even stands up to gasoline so perfect for the tanks.  Just a word of advice, if you use SprayMax in any form, pull out the respirator, it is pretty nasty stuff as far your lungs are concerned....

Yes, 2k paints require a good organic vapor respirator and all skin covered, the 2k paints are highly toxic and can be lethal. The toxic substances can mess you up for life if they don't kill you. So, don't screw around with them...take precautions.
Excellent product at an acceptable price for the protection you get, being impervious to fuel, brake cleaner, brake fluid, acetone, etc.

It is starting to reassemble a motorcycle a little more with each nut and bolt.  I have gone back and rubber mounted a lot of parts, it does vibrate, it may help a little once it is off blocks and back on rubber.  I installed the chrome exhaust tips I found in my stash of extra parts. I did cut down a couple of baffles and fitted them into the extensions for a little back pressure, they really didn't much for sound reduction however.  I still fiddling with the rear brake rod adjustment and mounting a stop light switch.  I also have some chain issues with it just barely touching the battery box, a little wheel of death action will remedy that. Once the tank cures for a few more days, a trip around the block will be in order.  I think I have the carbs somewhat close, starts great, throttles up, and will idle all day. I need to clean the front end up and paint the wheel, that is going to wait for a warm day to use Mother Natures booth with the epoxy paint, the overspray is awful with that stuff....

I don't know if it was discussed earlier, but that is an interesting lace pattern on the rear wheel. Did you have to custom drill the rim?

A brake light switch down under the return spring so the switch spring can share the hole with the return spring might work and be out of the way.

That’s a stock 48 spoke rim.

Pretty sure it only came on the 82/83

Well first trip around the block today and I must admit I am impressed how well the Yamaha runs.  Pulls strong, shifts like butter, and no hesitation what so ever.  I still need to do some minor adjustments to the throttle cable and seat configuration but I am afraid I may end up keeping this one.  A few more miles will make the final call......

I think it looks far better in green than red.
