That my friend is a true garage sale find.  Great bones and should come back nicely.  I had the same experience with my Wife when I had my garage sale find of all times years back.  We started not to stop but did, all of the items were laid on tarps on the ground, and there were not many to pick from.  In the middle was a Civil War Cavalry sword in great condition with 10 dollars on the price tag.  I couldn't hand the money over fast enough while my Wife was saying, "What are you going to do with that old thing"?  I still have it and refuse to part with it, my moment of glory.  BTW, what is your bike showing as mileage on the clock, a lot of times when the old guys decked them out like that, they put some miles on them.....

Thank you! It’s amazing what people will sell thinking it’s just some old thing. Great for us.

Odometer reads about 24,000 miles but I haven’t been able to test it to see if it works or not. My ‘74 had about 35,000 on the odometer and I know that wasn’t working when I bought it.

Back in the day I had a 1978 Buick regal, I bought a parts car with tied up engine at a garage sale for $50 once. Used a TON of parts off that car, once I had used the heater core it was all gravy after that money wise LOL. There was a guy in Grand Rapids Ohio a few decades ago that was buying up bikes locally and exporting them to Japan. Wonder what they would get for a bike like the one you just bought ??

Got 4 new needle valves installed and fuel is now flowing into the carbs with no issues. Fired right up and ran it for a couple minutes. Can't figure out imbedding a video. You'd think a 30 year old could figure out technology..

Also rebuild the right hand controls. I had two busted switches so I combined parts to get one operational switch.

After. New heat shrink, a couple fresh solder joints and some fresh grease.

Yeah doesn’t sound too bad! Even with 7 holes in the pipes LOL. I’d like to find an old 4 into 1 for it. I don’t think a shiny new 4 into 1 would looks right on this. Carbs have only been bench synced so when I get the time, probably tomorrow, I’ll check the valve tappets and ignition timing and get them vacuum synced.

I hope you see a good set of OEM pipes/mufflers for it that're in better shape,w/o breaking the bank;$ is always a problem for me..
I saw a set of them for sale on here for $800 just last week;I don't remember the condition.

That would be ideal grcamna. I’ve been trying to source a seat at well. Don’t really want to go the reproduction route if I don’t have to. I’ll have to get better at searching for sale ads on here. My local Craigslist/marketplace has been pretty bare.

I see the set of exhausts is back up for sale from member 'AndyCB750' in the 'for sale' section which is "CB750 HM300 exhausts x4".
The HM300 exhausts are the ones which have very little back-pressure and will give you the most performance, imo.

Don't skip the cam chain adjustment.

The video does work.  I haven't gone that far as to put a video on the forum yet..... it sounds promising. It wants to live again!

Patch the holes for now if you can to get you by until you find a better set or a 4-into-1 system. They do come up now and then.
I didn't get Andy's pipes so they are still available as far as I know.
