So I'm guessing you don't have the collection tank under the battery box?
This is one off the early 78 K8 frame I have.
1 goes to bottom of oil tank- vent tube.
2 goes to  lower rear engine case spigot
3 goes to gas tank vent.

New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

You are missing the collection box/tank the hoses connect/dump into. It isn't necessary, just run the hoses so oil doesn't hit the back tire.....

Red has 78SS engine and I ditched the collection box happily. I aimed the hose to the chain.

Perhaps late to the party; original hole (unsure of pic orientation) is indeed a fluid drain for top rear of cases and is to the center from vent nipple (pics are rear of 750F1 and top rear)

Thanks for that. I may have that collection box somewhere (and if I find it, your explanation will have been very helpful!). If I can't find it, does it make more sense to route both the bottom crankcase spigot and the bottom oil tank vent to atmosphere independent of each other(two separate hoses)? Or keep it as I had it with the two of them connected together (one hose)?
1977 cb750k with original airbox, PD41a carbs, slow jets=35, main jets=120, Delkevic 4in1 headers, 18" Cone engineering QC muffler, 7" headlight, dynatek ignition, ss r/r, clip ons, and ebc front brake rotor. All the rest stock, for now. First restoration, lots to learn!

You could connect them to a Tee and then out to atmosphere. I think the bottom of the oil tank is a tube up through the tank to capture air above the oil level.

The spigot on the back of the oil tank should be connected to the spigot on the crankcase. On the later tanks, this not only drains any condensed oil from the oil/air separator in the oil tank, it also vents any air from the tank, which is why the spigot is larger than the early tanks with separate vent hoses.
The main crankcase vent is the spigot in the cam cover, which was connected to the "collection" tank, and can be left open to atmosphere, as long as any oil from blow-by doesn't drip in front of the rear tire.

OK, so I found that collection box. Now to be sure:
1.oil tank vent is routed to bottom crankcase spigot as can be seen in Scottly's image.
2. Gas tank vent goes to #1 on collection box
3. main crankcase vent goes to #2 on collection box
4. #3 on collection box to atmosphere (away from rear tire)

Do I have it right?

Ok as to your picture on a 78 K8 like mine is, round canister, top is gas tank, middle is valve cover vent, bottom goes to atmosphere on right frame at the swingarmpivot 2nd pic .
The rear crankcase spigot goes to the bottom of the oil tank (closest to the canister but not connected to the canister 3rd picture)

If the filter screen in the canister has disintegrated, just cut a piece of a 3M Scotchbrite sanding pad to fit. I used a green one in mine.

You should get one.
