First up is my Russian socket set, after 30 years the socket driver is starting to show some wear but it's had a hard life, been beaten innumerable times with the biggest hammers I've got. Cost me $20 at a swap meet.

Don't know if I've put this up before and technically it's not a tool but scratching round in parts boxes of bolts is a thing of the past. Just about everything in there is stainless and Allen headed. M4 to M8 plus other stuff

That's a wonderful stock/cabinet of SS bolts !!  :)

For wire wheel I wear leather apron.  Those wires fly everywhere.

I have a good(very lightly used)condition Makita 9.6vt cordless drill;I would like to hook-up some type of AC/DC adapter/voltage regulator and step it down to 9.6 vts.

From the early 1900s!

I actually bought 9.6v makita tools in the late 1980s after having had the 7.2v stuff from 1986ish. What a difference they made!

I bought mine at an auction at a sign shop for $5. That was 25 years ago and it was already aged. It hasn't let me down yet!
The cord insulation is starting to crack so I'll be putting a new cord on it sometime in the future, it keeps on ticking.

I had a smaller DeWalt 4" angle grinder for a long time but someone I know used it while he used the welder to fix his exhaust. 3 months later when I needed it I opened the box and it was empty. >:(
We've done 3 yearly shop purges to get rid of stuff we'll never use and still haven't found it. I bought an identical one brand new for $40 that fits in the box.
The person has been back once and wanted to take back a drill press he gave me 10 years ago when he had to move and had no room for it. I never asked about the grinder, I just told him don't come back. ???

My little Makita angle grinder is corded 110V!

"Real" tools need to be 120 volt or gas powered.
Nothing more frustrating than having a dead battery halfway through a job w/o a fully charged backup battery.

tis true, i only have a girls welder but i also have 70 year old wiring in my house so no point pushing my luck. recently had a load of lights in the house stop working, turned out to be some of the ancient cloth covered wiring had burnt through the insulation, fused themselves together then welded itself to the steel conduit it runs through....

Well, my hot tub uses 240 volts...ok?!

BTW - I know a guy whose house caught fire recently due to bad wiring in his house, it's not to be taken lightly.  The house is a total loss.
