Why do you need an offset handle tap wrench, For what is it used, or does it help overcome?

Several times I had to improvise with tap handle when there was not enough room to rotate it.

Build your own cleaning tank?

Here's an idea a buddy shared with me, years ago, when I built my own tank. It’s a stainless (hospital size) sink, cut into one end of a 2’ X 8’ woden bench. A 5 gallon bucket  is hung below. Pardon the lousy drawing, but hopefully a picture is worth a thousand words! We use varsol in this tank, so it sits on top of the 1-2 gallons of water in the tank bottom.

The trick is to get the drain pipe deep in the water, so the varsol bubbles up slowly and drops all the real crud  falls to the bottom. When the drain gets plugged, it’s time to scrape out the bottom of the barrel!

How about a ratcheting spanner box wrench that will fit over the square end of the tap?

Williams, that’s the other company name I was trying to recall

That was the original manufacturer “JH Williams”. They originally made snap on too.
Snap On acquired Williams and eventually changed the name later.

Spotty and I cleaned the injectors on my BMW K100RS on the weekend. I love gadgets so bought a little $40 heated ultrasonic heater and injector tester ($36, from memory) and I brought over the Vevor injector cleaning kit with compressed air regulated feed tank.

We sat the injectors in the little ultrasonic cleaner all day in a mix of auto paint degreaser (very mild thinner that doesn’t affect O rings) with a few drops of injector cleaner. Once we’d finished un-clogging the hard brake lines down to the ABS modules and back to the calipers (9 years of sitting had caused rusty clumps to block all of the lines) flushed and bled them, we returned to the injectors.

The little ultrasonic cleaner had done a brilliant job and the fluid in the little tank was black with lots of little chunks of crap floating around. The inbuilt heater was a real bonus as it really helped to dissolve the muck. We pulled them out and dried them off, then connected the Vevor tank with pressure set at 15 psi to each injector, hooked up the test unit and was able to “pulse” each injector to ensure that the solenoids were working correctly.

I’m glad I bought these “cool tools”, a couple of years ago I replaced the injectors in my little Mitsubishi truck, which cost $400 and didn’t fix the problem, and so from now on I can clean and test injectors before replacing them, and all up, the tools were less than half the price of the Mitsubishi injectors. ;D

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Bill, I watched some Youtube videos of guys doing the same thing with just a battery and a spray can of carb cleaner etc, but I do love gadgets and with Amazon being so quick to deliver, I had to buy them.

Spotty very kindly gave me a new front fender for my DT250 so I gave him the little ultrasonic cleaner, then ordered another one when I got home, as it’s just the right size for cleaning carb parts etc, which would disappear in my 30 litre ultrasonic cleaner. ;D

In the center is my Dad's old Craftsman palm ratchet, it came with matching screwdrivers that had the square hole in the end also. The bottom right is the manual brake adjuster for my trailer wheels I blacksmith'd that. The spark plug starter is mandatory on a cb750.

My new belt grinder. Bought it on ebay from Poland.  It shipped for $68, got it in a.week. Motor is 2hp  Vevor.  It fits my needs well.

Major US ebay seller ships from California for $216 - something I do not understand.

It grinds flat in this setup, but you can have a contact wheel for grinding convex shapes.  It can be accesorized, sky is the limit, for knife makers.

But I use it now to fit a seat bridge back on the frame of Dorothy.  The PO cut it off and bondoed the crap out of the frame.

I went shopping for a set of universal tools for my non-Honda, on my list is a metric dogbone wrench, a 4-1 screwdriver, a small Crescent wrench with the fat handle and big head, small pliers of some sort, I like the small channel locks but want a wire cutter also. Any other trick ideas?

I like these cheapo 1/4” drive metric socket sets. I carry one in my tank bag. Not for everyday use, but great in a pinch.

I needed to join some very thin wires yesterday. My regular wire strippers were too big, so I kept trawling thru my various tool collections, and found my old "Gedore" (German) strippers, which of course, worked perfectly. Much nicer than the cheapo Chinese knockoffs. ;D

You know that tool you say I got to get one these when you need like once every two years, well the time has come.  I had to make a homemade gasket for a timing chain adjuster a few days ago, mainly because I wanted to finish adjusting valve lash and didn't want to wait at least a week for one to arrive from a vendor. With the X-acto knife and a single edge razor blade I had one done in just a few minutes since the old gasket was torn but still intact enough to make a decent template.  When I got to the holes I had to use a flat nose punch and the knife to get them fairly clean.  That will not happen again thanks to Amazon.  The gasket/leather hole punch set arrived the next day, so the next time this happens I am ready.  One of those sets that will live in the bottom of the tool chest in bear like hibernation, but will rise to the occasion when called for.......
