Windjammer giveth before I gave it away.
« on: February 05, 2023, 07:07:57 PM »
I gave away a windjammer last Thursday and when I got it off the shelf and tipped it over, out fell a dented and corroded 12 gauge shotgun shell, a single sunglass lens, WD 40 straw, a cigarette butt and a plastic tube that looks like what folks in movies use to snort coke. (I don't get around much)
Previous best was a nice pair of round lens green sunglasses like the Beatles used to wear, and a 50 cent piece. I wore the glasses while riding once and caught old hippie chicks checking me out.
A set of Vetter saddlebags I got once, held duct tape, twine, and a rusty butcher knife.
After hearing that Vetter would occasionally put a stash box inside the hand laid fiberglass fairings I have always checked inside. All the above is true. Mostly.

There must have been karma in the pockets?

I'd say so, the jammer went to a guy that owned hill climb bikes and a cbx years ago. I even had the correct F model bracket, wiring and turn signals. He also took home my 750 F1.
He was so tickled to have it that took the sting out of passing one along. He wondered how long it would take for his wife to notice it.
I took a picture of the lovely floor space in the shop.

I've harvested a nice chain breaker, extra master links and various tools and other goodies cleaning out an old Vetter's before taking them off.

dang...the best I ever got was a star trek key chain and a thin wall deep well 5/8" socket "custom ground" to fit even the tightest #2 and 3 spark plug  wells       do I need to do more bike shopping at the police auction!?
If it works good, it looks good...

Now, THERE's an inspiring idea!
If I didn't have a 450, 550, and 3 750s in the garage (and a 350F and 2 more 750s in the shed) already in process, I'd have to try that... :D
