K3 front fork dampener rods availability?
« on: February 06, 2023, 04:50:14 PM »
Does anyone know if there are front fork dampener rods still being made by any vendors? I need 2 for my K3 to modify for an Emulator install. Can't find any myself. Good used would also work. Need these ASAP, getting my bike ready for an upcoming bike show, need to reassemble bike soon.

Your existing forks don't have them?

In another thread I read he says the ones he has are corroded.

Honda has always labeled it as a pipe lower, but they have been known as the dampener by most people who work on forks.
Here in this current fiche it is labeled as pipe, lower

Back in the 70s when I was parts manager I would wonder why they labeled many parts the way they did.....

Did you find some?

Not yet apparently they don’t make them anymore. I thought someone on here would have some for sure, may have to buy a whole set of forks somewhere

Suggest you contact Bill Benton, he's a member here, he had a fork piece I needed awhile back, he might have what you need.

Here is the link to his profile and contact information.

You could replace with damper rods from a later model (77 or 78). They will be a little shorter so will reduce travel slightly.
