Topic: Eddyville Motorsports Park.

 I was facebooking on Old Dragbikes and where are they now? And had a conversation with Gerald Kramer owner of the Eddyville Motorsports Park. It turns out he was a big cb750 drag racer, he held a D/MT record at 9.06  at 145 mph. 
 1080cc with a turbo and a Tracy body. I may be incorrect but previously owned by Mike Pine and Butch Pace?

 Anyway, the Eddyville track is having a big motorcycle drag event August 11-13th 2023 in Oskaloosa Iowa. A 4.60 class, a $4,000 to win bracket race, index classes and a Vintage Dragbike class for bikes 30 years old and older. 
  Now I have a deadline to have a couple of bikes done by.

Don in '95 I was at Eddyville with Iowa-based funnycar racer Jack Wyatt for a Saturday night match race, it was a really neat summertime midwest event and the people were great. I have many good memories of running the smaller events, a lot of friendly people and a different feeling from running national events on either coast. Cordova World Series of Dragracing and the AHRA World Finals in Spokane were those kinds of festive atmosphere...

That turbo bike was certainly a good looking runner, what's not to love about a Tracy body? The 9.06 et is more than impressive!

I'm curious about the SOHC Record collection referred to in the FB post. Tom Laughlin used to print all the National Records in the back of the Dragbike! USA publication and I know them. I used to tease him that the SOHC class designation of XH stood for Extinct Honda.

 After we fixed the poor chassis work done by a local (Quad Cities) chassis shop I took my friend who is a welder/chassis guy to Eddyville's version of the World Series and had him drive the car that he helped fix. (I cut off a $4,000 one year old back half and scrapped it) We went out in the first round but we had a ball watching the exhibition cars and meeting Garlits. My buddy got an autographed book from Big. 
 The former owners of Cordova were partners in Eddyville for a while, then they bought into Clay Millican's team. Recently they have started a new Drag Racing Association.

Frank, you would want a cod river for that kind of trip and a tow vehicle with comfortable seats…
Muscle relaxers wouldn’t hurt when not operating to lessen the stiffness and aches from long trips… or, to help you sleep more soundly.

 That's my problem coming your way. This race leaves me little in the way of excuses, it's a 2.5 hour tow. I'm getting the track owner excited about getting his old cb back just for show. He sent me a pic of a tracy body a few minutes ago.
