350F Master Cyl Bushing and Plate?
« on: February 14, 2023, 11:33:15 AM »
I am rebuilding three master cylinders that came with three derelict bikes.  None of them had what Honda calls a "Bushing, right" or the "Plate, lever bushing" on the underside of the casting.  What does this bushing and plate do?  More importantly, where can I get them?  No joy with eBay and they are not included in the rebuild kits.

Are you talking about the bushing that sits behind the front brake lever?  I read somewhere that its purpose was to eliminate chatter between the front brake lever and the master cylinder when the brake handle was released. When I removed the master cylinder from my 350F, it was also missing. I have access to various sizes of medical tubing, I'm thinking something in the 3/16" range will probably work.  I think I saw it online somewhere 4 into 1 or CNMSL (can't remember). Cost was sub $5

It's a anti rattle bush, held in place by the plate underneath. As suggested above, use a piece of tubing cut to length instead.

Thanks a lot for the input.  I have a lot of automotive rubber tubing in different diameters.  Off to the shop to cut and install.
