Need ‘78 CB550K4 Honda paint code

Hi,
Would anyone have the original Honda paint code/mix for a CB550 in the Excel Black scheme?
I only need it for the tank. Side covers are good.
Local body shop supplier said they could provide me a rattle can of it if I give them the formula.

NH-1 is Black. Excel Black is NH-57, but both are Honda codes. They're next to useless, when you try to find the equivalent. Contact Menno. If he doesn't know, nobody does.

There are no codes from back then to cross reference to modern day paints, at least here in the States. 

Guessing the paint on your side covers is good but I would still paint them as new paint will never match 45 yr old paint

Any quality auto paint store should be able to scan your side covers and match the paint real close.  I agree with painting all the pieces so they match each other perfectly.  Side covers are a breeze to do.

I was looking for side cover paint for my F0 today at local Advance Auto. On their shelves they had "Honda Black" in a Dupli-color rattle can.
Not sure if they are referring to the Bike or car Honda...it may be worth a shot.
