PD41A-A or PD41A-B Different part no. for needle jet
« on: March 17, 2023, 05:44:49 AM »
Searching for a needle and needle jet for a k7 750 and I've come across a part number change from the 41A-A and 41A-B.
Does anyone know of a reason? I can get 4 A needles and needle jets in a kit for about the same price as one B kit. I'm after the B kit.
F205IE is the number on the needle, can't find a number on the jet.

There's slight wear on one side of the needle but the jet is egg shaped and just trashed.
It's been running fine but I changed the pipe and was trying to get it to cope better with snapping the throttle wide open at lower revs.
Rolls on beautifully and cleanly, and after raising the needle a notch got a noticeable midrange improvement when rolling on but also gained a overly rich spot right on the cruise position. Tiniest uphill load when it's doing it cleans it up but level or slight downhill it's 4 stroking badly.
Fuel mixture screws make no difference so I knocked the needle jet out and found out why it's going so rich at such low throttle opening.

It's got about 160k klm on it so the needles have been up and down a few times and you can hear the slide flutter at certain revs but I was not expecting how bad this jet is.
I scarred up the top edge of it trying to push it out before I ended up pulling the slides, but the top edge of the metering hole is just gone.
If no-one has any reason why I shouldn't, I'm going for the A kits. I'll find out if they work soon enough.
