« on: June 14, 2005, 03:45:38 AM »
Hi all.....does anyone know if later DOHC 750/900 carbs and/or pipes will fit earlier SOHC F1/2s
Pics of an old IOM winning works Honda from 77 seem to show CV carbs fitted.
Also,DOHC stuff seems easier to find

Any ideas please folks

...right off hand I'd say no, DOHC/SOHC are usually pretty incompatible.  Now can they be MADE to work...this is another question, but def not a straight swap...

I think it would easier to fit on the F2/3 because of the different style intake boots. I don't know the spacing on the CV carbs- anyone have a set to measure(both spacing and carb mounting OD). I have a set of F3 carbs I can measure. My friend has a 1980 F- I could measure the exhaust spacing though I won't be over to his house for 2 or 3 weeks.

on the pipes, I'd say spacing would be a problem.  Just as a clue if u look check pipes on dennis/kirk or where ever, the 69-78 have their own pipes.    Fitting differences can be made to work...no dice on spacing though...
