Won't Go Up and Down
« on: March 26, 2023, 03:27:30 PM »
Doing a slight rebuild and FINALLY got the cylinder fitted.  Went to cycle it.  ! and 4 are up and 2 and 4 are down.  As I apply pressure, the jugs come up with 2 and 4.  I'm afraid the rings will pop out if the jugs come out too far.  Any idea what to do next without selling it.  Getting frustrated.
Thanks.

You are trying to rotate the crank without the head on and bolted down?

Lets assume you an 2 and 3, were they the last pistons you fitted? If so you have possibly trapped an oil ring scraper thin piece

Sounds like a good suggestion Bryan, may be a piston binding.

+3. Sounds like a snagged oil ring.
