Harbor Freight Motorcycle Lift Recall- NOT Table Lift -
« on: April 17, 2023, 11:27:42 AM »
Friend of mine e-mailed me some info about the fact that over 41,000 Harbor Freight motorcycle lifts are having a recall.  A friend of his mentioned his was made by Pittsburgh with a different SKU so not all our affected  Not sure what mine is yet but there is a part number to check. They also said people would be notified but as I paid cash not sure how that would happen.  Can't remember if I filled out a warranty card or anything else. Maybe its all in a computer somewhere.
Attached is a little starter link to get you started on some research if needed.  Watch your toes !!  ;D   https://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls/harbor-freight-recalls-42000-motorcycle-lifts-041323.html

To be clear that's the Harbor Freight 99887. I can't help but think most of these 41,000 units are still in the stores and warehouses.

Thanks for clearing that up Alan.  I asked my buddy on the phone if it was the table lift and he said it was so I should have punched those numbers in to verify and do some homework.  My mistake again to assume !  ;D  You know what they say about that word. As for the lift in the recall sounds like a good idea on that rickety looking thing !  :)
I at least fixed the title desription.

I didn't mean to be prickly about it, and hope I wasn't.
The other type, the table lifts seem to have been generally good. I'm hoping some panic from this recall might get a few of those into the second-hand market for cheap.

No you did great Alan and thanks for doing legwork I should have done. I got back with my friend who sent me the recall and told him that it was not the table lift that he thought but the one in the picture that you posted and that I sent him.  He said "oh crap" as he has a CB175 hanging on one right now.  ;D
