NEW SUPER ELIMINATOR RECORD
« on: March 26, 2023, 07:58:46 PM »
I finally received my Super Eliminator record certificate on November  2022 from an event held at Rockingham Dragway on September 2021. Kevin has been struggling to keep up, but he did get it in my hands. I misplaced it inside the truck and saw it on Friday.  Just wanted to share it with the group. By the way, this is a reset  of my own record.  I did this on the mono shock bike. I  think I've got a little more left to tap into with this package on raw horsepower.  My ultimate goal is to set a nitrous oxide record with it  at some point this season.

And my response to the later part of your post is this: "I lost my dang mind when I got into the race game. I've yet to find it, or a way out". Lol.

"Old Faithful" has to be jealous. Now it's time for that refresh. Great numbers. Don't leave anything on the bench.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

CB is the designation for the SOHC Honda's.  SS is  super street. Basically it's a 750 with street tires, stock hand  clutch,  it can have an extended swingarm, aftermarket exhaust and air shifter with any engine mods. It cannot have a turbo or nitrous oxide . Lock up or slider clutches are not allowed. No slicks or wheelie bars.

If I put a nitrous bottle in the bike, I will have to enter it into another classification for a bike with power adders. I can't remember the exact designation right now.

Well, the Manufacturers Cup Dragbike Series is coming to a close. We've got one more event left this season.  The finale will be held at SGMP in Adele, Georgia. I'm planning to shoot for breaki g my last standing ET record and taki g back the mph record from Billy  Bling. I can't say exactly which bike I'll be on right now but you can bet it'll be a Honda CB 750. Lol

Forgot to add that i went testing this evening during the AMRA friday test and tune session. Yes, they let an import test with the V Twins  believe it or not. Lol.

Anyway, i got there later than I  planned so i was only able to get one hit at the dragstrip.  I haven't been on the bike in a while but managed a respectable 10.37 @123.8mph. My current record in super eliminator is 10.35 set on this same bike. I'm only a few numbers off so I'm okay with the 1/4 mile ET in spite of my lack of seat time. I noticed during the run i was having clutch slippage. I made some changes to the springs to lighten the lever effort but it resulted in not enough pressure plate clamping force. I'll be back in the shop this weekend to reevaluate my set up. I can't lower the record if I'm throwing horsepower away through the drive train. I may have to put the new lock up clutch in the bike or consider buying Kenny's goldwwing 6 spring clutch conversion kit. I really hate to throw more money at this bike to eclipse my own record but it might be something I'll have to pursue.  I have not spray nitrous yet because I want to get my best all horsepower ET first. Neither can be achieved until the clutch is perfectly tuned.

Congrats on the great run! If you can get the clutch to stop slipping that record should be toast if conditions are not radically different.
