I like white

I also have a affinity to white although i have no clean storage for the things i want to paint white.. lmao

I like a white helmet because it's a safety color, imo. I am noticed more by the color, and traveling out here on I80.. in this traffic,I want to do everything I can to be visible.
I also like a white seat cover on my bikes as they have to sit out in the sunlight;the white reflects the sunlight off of the seat and saves my old seat foam and cover.

I just purchased a barely used Shoei RF1200 helmet today on Marketplace;the color is a factory design multi-color.. not what I want. I'll be giving it a white paint job.

Edit: Ok, New Plan, A buddy just gave me an idea: white reflective tape !  rather than going through the work of prepping and painting the helmet. I'll cover the complete outside of it with that  ;) :)

Have you considered a vinyl wrap? They do whole cars with any design you can think of, and it won't damage the helmet material.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
Helmets save brains. Always wear one and ride like everyone is trying to kill you....

Vinyl wrap? I had heard that before somewhere.
I'll look it up, thanks
You mentioned that "it won't damage the helmet material".
Does white reflective tape damage it ?

Does white reflective tape damage it ?

Tape won't hurt a Shoei, they're made of fibreglass or kevlar or carbon fibre. The issue with paint/tape/stickers used to be with polycarbonate helmets ( injection moulded plastic ) the adhesives in stickers and the solvents in paint could soften the uncoated outer shell.

Here it is;I just received it today and it fits just like a new helmet should:like a glove all the way around, & it's L,my size  ;)
The helmet was a very good deal :)
But the color...  :o

I'm going to cover the whole exterior(except the vents and the stickers)with some strong adhesive white reflective material so it will shine bright all the time  8)

I'm sure you will get used to it.
Look not that bad. You'll be noticed in the traffic.

Will it really look better after painting it?

There are LED stripes kits out there
One of many videos

More here
https://lightmodehelmets.com/

Add stripes on bike matching your helmet will make it better too.

My blue/white helmet match my K6 very well.
But another user with a different colored bike will most likely not like the helmet as I do.

Hey are you going to “Show Me” ?

It’s a Missouri thing 😁. Just curious how it turns out and whether your artistic side speaks to me 🤪

The vinyl wrap would allow you to renew it when ever it lost that brand new look. My nephew is  planning on wrapping their VW beatle in Rat Rod vinyl for advertising the curvier shapes. They do rims too..

Oh yeah  :), I'll certainly be posting some 'after' pics when I receive the sheets of reflective white in the mail.  ;)

On ebay I purchased marine reflective tape - at night the reflected light casts shadows, amazing stuff.  I used it on my motocycle luggage.

Lol  :D  I think that must have been interesting for the other drivers on the road.
I hope that will wake-up the other drivers enough to keep them aware of you.

The most visible helmet, the one that everyone will notice, is only half white.  ;)
