K0 750 cylinders 2 and 3 went on strike

 I have a pamco on it because I got it free a few years ago. This week #2 and #3 have been coming and going. Today while playing with my new morgan carbtune, I took off the ignition cover and aimed a big fan at it just in case it is a heat related failure, but it quit again and seems like one pickup or coil died.
 Aside from replacing it with a dyna or points, is there an easier test?

Try switching the trigger wires to see if 1-4 go down. If that’s the case, replace the ignition.

Try spraying a blast of cold air (or freeze spray, if you have some?) on that pickup while it runs. If it comes back for a while, the pickup is dying.

Dyna and Pamco share one thing in common, in my observation: they did not select their pickups' solid-state devices to have high-enough excess capability to run close to their max operating temperature ALL the time. To do so is quite expensive: for example, if I did that with my Transistor Ignition it would cost approximately 40%-50% of what it does now - but then, it wouldn't last, either. ;) High-temp semiconductors are pricey devils.

So true!!!! We have a built in, electric oven in our Kitchen centre island. The island is an old pine storefront (facing out) and an equal size cabinet on the back side that matches the rest. I then poured a concrete counter top over the entire piece, so pretty fixed hole size for this specific oven. When the LED started to fade to the point we couldn’t read the temps any longer, I dug in. Three stacked up boards in the control panel. The faulty semiconductors were clearly stamped for 250F MAX temp. Mounted directly above a metal box my wife regulary runs to TWICE that……. Really?

Fortunately a clever guy in Quebec makes a living repairing these boards, with better bits. With the right parts, the LEDs make a good night light in that space now!

 Since I had the nos 1998 Dyna sitting here I put it on. In spite of several cable ties, I found melted wires on the Pamco where the cable had become too close to the exhaust, that may have happened when it fell over in the trailer. 
 Maybe placing the wires on the back of the motor like Honda did it would have been a better idea than going up the front frame with the choke cable.
