Thanks for tuning in Prospect. Great looking GL there. What brand shocks you using? I am in the market. Was looking at Hagon, but at $300+ thought I’d check around. Possibly Progressives? I don’t want cheapos, but don’t think I need top of the line for my type riding.

Since I had the wheel just about off doing the rear caliper I decided it was a good time to add some Moly paste to the splines. They’re pretty clean as expected with only 15k on it. I see evidence of the wheel being off in the past.

I have stock shocks on the bike for now. 

Are you going to be servicing the final drive (u-joint) unit?  Apparently the 76 has a grease point to grease the u-join but, from what I have read, it is not very effective in lubricating the area.  Better to take the whole thing apart.

I better follow this thread! I have a 1982 GL1800 coming tomorrow I inherited from a friend who recently passed away from colon cancer. It's been parked for over 20 years, and he just parked it, no preparation for long term storage. Cliff.

New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Painted the valve cover badges. Just couldn’t put them back on with paint missing.

Geez I couldn't ever use that. I use Dupli-Color on all sorts of stuff. The adhesion is so good. I even used it on the inner fenders in the motor compartment of the Chevelle. These badges I masked off the chrome frame and sprayed the entire badge. Then used 3600 grit sand paper and a rubbing block to remove the paint from the chrome HONDA insignia.

No problem.
Dot 3 and Dot 4 are very much the same;DOT 4 has a higher boiling point than Dot 3.

Do you use your brakes very hard? Dot 4    if you are always gentle/progressive with your brakes and clutch as most Touring riders are,and don't have many hills which require hard stops Or go at high speeds and then jamb the brakes down hard,then I believe Dot 3 is sufficient.

Hi Johnie...how is that Chevelle?   You're about to be in the middle of your car season, lucky you.  I'm in boating season, too hot for the Corvette.

Hey Stev-o...yes we are in the middle of the car season. I'm going to be rebuilding the carb soon as I had an issue with the float sticking...of course when I was heading to a show. It's time...according to the PO it has been on there for about 15 years with limited miles and no issue. So I think it's time.

I remember a fellow on here a few years back using that special Dow grease on the piston rubber seal..
