Back from the paint shop.

The prices made my eyes water...........

They could not find the Honda paint code (R-9C-S) in their system, so used a scanner type device to look at tank.  With all the colors in Candy Alpha Red, they only could get about a 52% match.

We took the color on a chip to compare to the tank, it was a little too dark.

I gave them the Toyota/Lexus paint color code of 3Q2 that was mentioned here earlier by Flyin900, it was just as close, but just a hair lighter.

The price to have a pint mixed up of 3Q2 was about $150 (R-M) paint.  This 3Q2 was close enough for me, and has about 8 different colors in it.

Not sure which direction I'm headed to yet, but he said they were so busy it could be fall/winter time before he could do the painting for me.

So, I may investigate other paint systems and see if I can do it myself on just the side covers.

Price above did not include the adhesion promoter and clear, so easily $300 just for materials.

Decided to just paint the Franken side covers I picked up from Stu.

The paint color is 3Q2, ordered in an aerosol can from O'Reillys Auto Parts.  Will see how they turn out hopefully the next couple of weeks.
