If they still exist that link to Rickman is about 10 miles from me, i would happily ship to you in US at cost but any duties/insurance would be down to you.
I have found UPS to be only marinally dearer than post and way quicker.

Bryan….. I wonder who does Rickman’s plating today? My CR a frame is so small and light I wonder if it would be practical to just ship it there. I can’t find anyone in Ontario, Canada that I would trust to plate mine, so it’s going to be shipped somewhere!

Hey John...it's nickel plated, right?   My local plater that I use for chrome apparently does it [I've used him for chrome cycle exhaust and auto bumpers]. It's a family run business in Austin run by David, shoot him an email with pics for a bid.

I may be reading this wrong but are you saying you can purchase a new frame or that customers can ship their frames and have them re done?

Has anyone ever heard of a case where the frame came out in pieces? When I brought that concern up to my plater, he shut it down very quickly.

Steve is right. Mine was a race bike for many years and the guys hacked off all the non essential tabs. It needs lots of bits put back on and then replating.

I have no idea who plates for them, i know of no local firm doing it, international shipping is going to be expensive plus you may end up with import problems as it is technically a vehicle

In addition to the aforementioned problems, plating, whether chrome or nickel, has a chemical effect called hydrogen embrittlement that can cause fractures in the tubing.  Baking the frame can alleviate the effects.  I have a lovely custom frame with cracked tubes, and no plater around will remove the plating so the tubes can be replaced, much less replated.

I would recommend it be spray painted, rather than powder coated.

Yes. If I recall correctly, the issue is that the old nickle plating must be removed first, and if the wrong process is used, it can dissolve the brass joining the Reynolds 521 tubing together. (521 is always brazed, never welded.)
