plug wires
« on: June 15, 2005, 07:50:06 AM »
I've looked at posts concerning wire splicers for spark plug wires. I've also heard that the plug boots that attach to the plug can go bad. Can I use standard automotive wires on my bike if I splice them, and can I use the traditional soft spark plug boot like the ones used in automotive applications?

I used a  NAPA metalic core universal  kit on my 350F  I retained the factory molded ends in that I was having a lot of trouble with the NGK caps.  I spliced the wires at the coil with solder, 3M fusion tape with heat shrink over the splice.  Seems to work Ok

I used automotive copper core wire. Solder the wires, coat with silastic & then heatshrink. I kept the the NGK caps as they're easier to get at on a CB750.
