Thanks Stev-o...you are correct about the plastics. I recall doing that a few times. Carb sync looks to be easier on this with them right on top and space above. Does not look like I will need to do any chroming or painting. Just the details and figuring out the wiring. The color coded wires will help for sure. I know it will need a right hand ignition switch set up. Left hand blinker switch was hanging there. I don't plan to bust my butt on it all summer as I do want to get the Chevelle out. Looks like a summer rainy day project. For sure need the rear grab rail to hold the seat and blinkers on. Almost looks like the blinkers of the 75 CB750 are the same? I have a bunch of those in my stash.

It will be fun seeing you around more on the forum Johnie while you work on the bike. Sure you will have a project thread going. A 76 Wing with less then 16,000 miles will be a worthy project and being a cool yellow will make for a lot of comments and questions when your out with the wife riding around a little.  When they fall in your lap like that why not. Look forward to more updates.

Thanks Alan I checked the GW site out. That will help alot. Eric thanks for the input. Looking forward to getting on it. Sort of strange that 3 foot pegs would be missing. The contact told me this afternoon they may have tossed some stuff out not knowing what it was....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Here is a closer pic of the cut wires area on the left by the yellow radiator shroud.

Looking at that photo I cant help but wonder if it's just a matter of someone had swiped 5 of the male bullet connectors. 

I count 5 nipped ends, and I count 5 empty female connectors. It might be that simple.  🙄

Hi Johnie!  I've been watching this and the red bike since the grandson first posted them on his YouTube channel a month or more ago.  I'm so glad to hear that you are taking on this project.  I have no doubt that you will give this bike the attention that it deserves.  I'm looking forward to following along another "Johnie project".  I had feared that we wouldn't be seeing anymore of these when the Chevelle made the scene!  ;D

Congrats Johnie!
The stators wiring plug is a source of failures that toasts the stator because dirty loose connections. Many will just totally bypass that connector block and solder the harness to the stator harness. Only time you need that to come apart is if you drop the motor out.

CV carbs as you know have passages the size of a knat's ass and often clog causing running problems for carb operation. Need a good strong commercial ultrasonic cleaner to get the gunk out of any has developed.
Might have pressed in jets which are difficult to remove sometimes. Some guys thread the top of the jet for a machine screw to gain purchase to pull them. Ezouts better be very good quality if you go that route or you're gonna wish you never seen them.
CV carbs are a royal pita but perform great when clean.
Just a few gotchas I learned while ogling and working on my 78 CX500 Plastic Maggot which has many similarities.

Thanks Alan. I had not counted the cut wires. I will pay attention to that idea when I pick it up next week.

Thanks Brad...Yah, i was not sure what would happen when I sold most of the 750's and picked up the Chevelle. But you know these Honda's get in your blood. I recall when I got the car I did not visit this site as often. Once I got the car pretty much the way I wanted it I started back. Been looking at bikes for sale when I see one, but was never really serious about starting another. This one was only a few miles from me and with so few miles on it and title I had to move. I'll be starting a build thread once I get the bike next week.

Thanks for that info David. I will check that out. Don't want to pull that motor for a stator issue.

Most folks have many pairs, nice flip flops for going out, funky flip flops for working, etc.

Stev-o...the Chevelle is ready. Just put the dash pad back on after replacing light bulbs in the cluster. We had 61 today and with all the rain the last few days the salt is gone. So since I was picking up the GL today had to move the SS to get the KO off the lift. Got to take that SS out for a nice ride. Then moved the GL onto the lift and ready for the next project.

I've never understand the flip flop thing for guys. They offer no support or protection and are quite feminine, IMO.

I did the connector bypass on my GL. Initially i relaced both sides of the connector completely, new housings and pins from Vintage Connections. But it melted again within 50 miles. Removed the connectors and soldered them and had no more problems, the connections didn't even get warm.

Head over to Randakks and get their rebuild kit with the step-by-step DVD. It is well worth the money. Wing carbs are definitely more fiddly than the carbs on COHC 4s, even the later PD carbs. I had my Wing for about 2 years and never got the carbs 100%. It ran well overall but I just couldn't get it to idle properly.

I guess flip flops are just a thing here.
They are sold everywhere in many, many styles, some with arch support built in.
I like them flat, like my feet🙂
Back in the day my Wing carbs sometimes gave me fits.
