P.S. If the chain oiler is fully intact, you should be able to just turn it all the way OFF.
Hondaman recently mentioned to swap out the broken odd flat rubber seal(the reason why you can't turn the oiler off) that came on the oilers with 2 orings

I like the tire! Planning on hitting the desert? SCI is local for me. They have some great deals and even less if I pick it up……

P.S. None of those girls are there when I drop in!

John, I believe you are about my age if I am not mistaken.  Probably a good thing the girls are never there relating to the "Chihuahua chasing the Cadillac" analogy, "What the hell are you going to do with it if you catch it"?????

The tires are a bargain buy, Duro brand and I run a set on my vintage Triumph T100.  The ride is not really all that bad, I like the look, and most of all, they are inexpensive.  I shopped for K70's and the prices have gone up considerably set I last purchased a set.....

Yep….70 a few weeks ago. It’s all about attitude and I think we are similar there too!
We’re off to Calabogie in a few weeks, for two more rounds of 8 hour endurance races, assuming the local forest fires don’t burn the place down. Fingers crossed.

You all may shun me from the congregation or pull my CB750K card but I decided I liked the 72 paint scheme better than the bike's year of birth 1973.  This is as close to Planet Blue paint as I could get and yes I will end up with a gold stripe with a white highlights and that is another story that has a real PITA theme.  The tank will cure for a week or two, then be wet sanded, the stripe applied, (if and when it ever gets here) and final clear.  Of course every bug and gnat in Virginia came to visit when the clear came out, so the wet sanding is a good thing.....

Are you spraying with a gun or rattle cans? If rattle can how many does it take you for the tank and side covers?

It does look good, like all your paint jobs you have posted.

I painted the K3 black with the early stripe, for the same reason. Your bike, your call!

Rattle cans, but good quality automotive paint.  In general, two cans of base color and one can of 2k clear.  About three coats of each.

Repaintsupply.com can pack any color you have the automotive code for...with 1k or even 2k in some instances...

The can has the adjustable fan pattern spray nozzle capable of switching between horizontal or vertical fan pattern...

Thanks. I have a project that I want to paint but it is a tricolor, so that adds 1 more step. Was looking ar Color-rite and its almost $40 USD per can. I don't want to come up short half way through.

Want a good buy-rear shocks from Scrambler Cycle.   $55 bucks for the set and good quality.  I have run a set on my 74K for a couple of years now and the ride is good and they have held up well.
I also purchased a seat from SCI on Ebay for $198 bucks and for the money the quality can't be beat. By the time you purchase a good cover and the padding, I think you are coming out ahead with the compete seat. Again there is one on my personal bike and it has held up great.  I posted the link, take a look at workers in the ad.....

I bought seat for my CB900 on ebay from Vietnam.  High quality a surprisingly fast shipping.

I understand that... Is it a decal or paint? I find paint to be more forgiving as you can remask until you have it right...decals you can only do so much to float them in place...

Decal-I had a devil of a time getting the damn things fairly close in layout, matching on both sides.  Chasing the bubbles and wrinkles before it starts to set in the soapy water was also a fun time thing. I will admit I ruined the first set I tried, (the correct color pinstripe around the gold is supposed to be white.)  The set on there is not for Planet Blue paint, it was a backup set I had ordered incorrectly and was going to return, damn glad I kept them.  I worked the first set too much, apparently without enough soap in the water, and ended up with a tear.  A 60 buck learning experience, but I have spent more on F___k Ups in the past.......

Going to the front.  I strapped the temporary fuel bottle on the handlebars today and went around the block a couple of times.  No slippage on the clutch and shifts fine, but not a lot of clutch play in the lever so I am on the fence about changing the discs.  I will put some miles on it before making up my mind.  I think with the heat we having here in Virginia I going to put a good grade of motorcycle oil in it with 20/50 weight, after changing out the first oil fill. Bike has been sitting for years so a couple of good flushes and added miles should do a lot of good. Fork seals on are the bench with some new gators.  I had to pick up a used front fender off of Ebay, (was ready shocked at the prices) because someone had drilled a hole in top of the one on the bike. It was a shame since the chrome was in decent shape compared to the replacement I bought.  I am thinking about two more weeks should do it, of course that is just a guess.  A fine example took place this afternoon when I pulled the rock hard 40 year old front tire off, it put up a hell of a fight, but the old man won the match......

I think it is a combination of years of grime mixed with leaking fork oil.  I believe it will clean up with a good degreaser and a lot of polishing.  Will find out shortly.....
