Value, 77 750 barn find
« on: August 07, 2011, 08:25:22 PM »
Been looking for an inexpensive 550 candidate for a vintage track bike. The CB Gods blessed me the other day with a 74 550 and a 77 750 for a 100 bux. Not a bad find either. Both have been inside for the last 10 years since ridden except the last 2 years out side "under a tarp". Everything is there on both bikes, neither motor is stuck. Some rusty spokes and where the wheels at the bottom where they sat. Some minimal rust in the tank but not bad considering, fork tubes still have good chrome. Need to be completely gone thru obviously. So my question is, and I know whats coming back at me, whats the 750 worth? Im not looking for a hard number, just an idea. Is this a $100, $250 or maybe a $500 bike? Not trying to get rich from selling the 750, would much rather find it a good home than get max money. And maybe get a few bux twards the 550. Intelligent questions welcomed.

     Thanks.

If you were closer I would buy it in a heart beat. I have been looking for another 750 but without some pics of the bike I would have a hard time putting a price on it.  Does it have a title?
If it ain't broke yet, just give me a little more time...

Non-runner, but complete (complete = 4-4 exhaust in decent shape?) and the engine isn't frozen? $800-$900 without seeing any pictures or knowing the mileage.

Done, clear title, riding, new paint and a seat cover, things tidy and shiny but not a full resto, $1800-2600.

Well at least I got the links to work. I dont have titles as they were abandon in a rental house. The right side cover for the 750 is not lost. I wish they were both 550s.

That 750 is worth $250 as it sits.  If it were closer I would take it off your hands.  It is a good cafe or bobber candidate.

If you weren't at the opposite end of the country I would give you $250 in a heartbeat. I paid $300 for a K7 with a stuck engine, no title and smashed rear fender.
Great find!

I bought a K7 last year that sounds like what you have, I paid $300 (titles in TX are fairly easy to get).
The value will go up if you can get a title. Or, part it out, that motor could bring $400 once cleaned up.

I am looking for another 750 to work on and I am not too far away from you.  I picked up my first 750 in Eugene.  Shoot me a pm and maybe we can work out a deal. ;D
