Topic: 79 CB650 speedo. Need help

Hi all
So I’ve got the 650 running perfect and restored.  I bought NOS chrome tach and speedo buckets.  I decided to paint the speedo and tach.  I taped off all holes and it was air tight before painting.  The paint turned out perfect.  Put it all together with new 6v bulbs and decided to take her for a glory ride.  Speedo is not working I checked the speedo shaft-not broken.  When I put the shaft in the speedo it won’t spin.
The speedo worked before taking it off to paint
Am I missing something

Any help is appreciated.

Finally figured it out
The piece that goes on end of shaft which goes in the speedo housing on fork needed to be attached to the shaft
