Topic: Sources For Performance Exhaust Mufflers/Slip-Ons

Bike is a '77 750 K with a wet sump conversion kit and as a result of such, I went ahead and got the Delkevic 4-1s for the '79-'82 and modified it to fit. Looks beautiful. My only issue (and it's just a personal issue, not a fitment/performance issue at all) is that they're thin walled tubing so I'm guessing they'll start to blue/discolor immediately.

So aside from that I'm looking for a performance slip on muffler I can add to complete the look and achieve that great sound.

Now the 4-1 is made from 304, and the only place I've been able to find for universal slip ons is Cone Engineering. Now while I think they've got some great products and there's 2 in particular I wouldn't mind snagging, I notice they're both 304 brush finish stainless. The brush finish won't mesh well aesthetically with the polished Delkevic 4-1s and you can't polish brush finish without ruining it.

So I'm curious if anyone knows other places that sell performance slip-ons?

If pipes is getting bluish, carbs are not correctly jetted.
EDIT: Too late ignition can make engine to run hotter and probably bluish pipes close to head.

The good thing with stainless is the possibility to just grind the pipes back to stainless tone.
A ride later,  back to its bronze tone it gets.

I have done that on my very thin walled Hindle 4+2-1. Several times. A lightly used grit 800 work fine.

The baffle hower is insulated so it does not become hot turning into bronze.

A slip-on from Delkevic as your header if I have understood correctly?
They  can have a matching one in correct tube diameter.

They might use a std tubing for several systems.

To remove any heat discoloration from stainless, wipe it down with acetone, then use 0000 stainless wool and rub it. Preferably while the tubing is still a bit warm.

You can polish brushed stainless, but it’s a helluva lot of work to do it. Just scan motorcycle slip ons and find one that has a similar inlet diameter to the system and has the length, material, and look you seek.

When you say it's alot of work to do, do you mean just the time and effort needed to finally get it polished or are there other things I need to consider?

I've tried looking and I just can't seem to find anything decent - just Chinese cheap junk.
