PD41A pump check ball size
« on: May 04, 2023, 12:07:09 PM »
Hi friends, I've been lurking for a while but created a membership so I could use the search function to (hopefully) find the answer to this question. No luck.

When cleaning my carbs for my '77 Super Sport, I dropped the tiny pump check ball bearing and it disappeared forever. I ordered an assorted set of hardened steel ball bearings in metric sizing from 1-4mm, I'm wondering if anyone here knows what exact size they are. I have measured the hole but I don't want to throw a ball in there and have it get stuck or be too small and therefore not work properly. Scoured the internet and checked every manual I can get my hands on. No luck there either.

Many thanks for all the help I've gotten simply from reading through this forum, it's a total goldmine of info.

Welcome.  :)
This is for the #2 PD carb accelerator pump;you're referring to the diaphragm cover with 3 screws, the small ball underneath the square part in the center which covers the ball in that 3-screw cover ??

Thank you!

No. There's a similar one on rim of main float bowl on carburetor #2. I didn't actually check under the accelerator pump. I suppose they are most likely the same size, so I could measure that one ...
