1977 Seeley-framed CB750F1
« on: May 15, 2023, 11:15:07 AM »
Okay, so I've been the owner of this bike - frame number SH624 - since 1978, and I knew the previous owner, who had it from new - Paul from Kew, London who unfortunately I've lost touch with. I haven't ridden the bike for 10 years and sad to say it was looking pretty sorry for itself. So last week I started a full engine-out rebuild, and the frame has gone off for powder coating, handlebars and brightwork off for chrome plating and tank and seat unit, side panels and fairing for a respray. I can't wait to ride it again, hopefully in a couple of months' time. The engine is stock apart from electronic ignition & K&N air filters so should be totally reliable. I'll post some photos once I have anything worth showing but for now, anyone else with a Seeley please get in touch as I'd like to see what else is out there.

Welcome aboard the forum Dave
Is your frame nickle plated? If so, you want to reconsider having it powder coated as the heat curing will melt the brased together frame tubes!

Welcome Dave! I've had my Seeley since Spring of 1979, so a year or so less than you've had yours. We have a section just for Seeleys here on the forums:

Hiya, another Seeley owner here. There's also this group on Facebook.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1654293514838145

p.s. personally I'd get it painted not powder coated, that is so thick it hides all the details
