1978 cb550 float needle question
« on: May 17, 2023, 02:01:56 PM »
My float needles (new) possibly are not correct length? Too short to seat properly , issue is with pet cock on it dumps fuel….lots like it would drain the tank if left.
I’ve checked overflow tubes. Float height.
But just placing the needle into seat without the float attached it bottoms out to the clip.
I’ll attach a picture

Check float bowl overflow tube for cracks. That can lead to lots of fuel loss...
Float valves purchased from dealer should work correctly and have proper length.
South Sound Honda of Olympia Washington has good discounts prices on parts, sometimes the discount covers any shipping charges which are reasonable.
Otherwise, support your local dealer.
