I am trying to get a new group buy started for No Numbers Unstamped HM300 exhaust from Busso. I joined their group buy for repro HM300 last year and received my systems recently. I am more than satisfied with their system and have posted reviews of it on various Facebook CB750 groups.
Anyway, the Group Buy I am trying to start is for No Numbers Unstamped HM300 system. Price is 850 Euro shipped. Same deal as the previous group buy, heatshields, baffles, hoses, clamps and rubber stops included.
I need 30 pre-orders for Busso to take over and start a production run. Currently I have 18.
Enclosed are pictures of the repro HM300 from Busso on my bikes.
I am also including a cut and paste of my final review on the Facebook CB750 groups I also have videos of it running posted on Facebook but don't know how to post videos here.
Here's my follow-up and final review of Busso's BS300 reproduction exhaust system after living with it for a month. This is a long read so please bear with me.
Let's talk about the cons first.
1. The fitting is especially tight for the #3 pipe, it takes a little bit of patience and some wooden shims to help me position the pipe. The trick is not to tighten anything down, use the shims at key areas between the pipe and the frame, carefully wiggle it in place and then tighten it down.
2. This is not really a con but to make it easier for me to position and mount the stock passenger foot peg. Busso did not cut the foot peg slots on the pipe to allow the installation of non-factory foot pegs. I marked the pipes on where to cut the slots with the stock foot pegs mounted, use a Dremel cut my slots
3. Again, not a con for most of you but I like my crash bar with driving lights. The #3 pipe is bent very differently from the factory, going straight down from the exhaust port leaving no room for mounting the crash bar's mounting tab on the frame/motor mount.
As for pros, the BS300 is heavier and bigger diameter in several places compared to the original. That allows better flow and requires carburetors re-jetting and tuning air-fuel mixture screws. I managed to dial mine in by moving the needle clip down one and 1/4 turn in from 1 turn for the air mixture screws. Because it flows better, it is also louder for those who consider it as a con.
For those who know me, I ride all my bikes and they are not just sitting around looking pretty. The exception is the JDM 71 which was a nuts and bolts restoration done with my son. To me, Busso's exhaust system is a no-brainer at much less $$$, and more power, and allows me to put away all my stock original pipes in storage. Now that I have had them for a month, I like them so much that I am considering buying two more sets for my K0s but I wanted them to be Unstamped and No Number reproduction HM300s.
I worked out a Group Buy deal with Busso and they agreed to make a special production run of Unstamped and No Number systems if they can get 30 prepaid orders. It is the same deal as the previous Group Buy at €850 shipped with all the hardware(heat shields, baffles, hoses & clamps, and rubber stops.
So, if you are interested, please DM me to get on the WhatsApp list for the Group Buy.
FYI, I am not in charge of OR running the Group Buy. Busso will be running the Group Buy, I am just trying to get enough people interested to get a special production run started so I can get what I want.
As for why they are not posting this? Busso sort of lost interest in doing Group Buy because of all the negativities generated. They told me if I want them to make a special run I would have to do the work.
