Topic: Genuine Honda mirrors are worth the money

Seriously, don't sleep on this! I had some crappy aftermarket ones for 10 years and couldn't see a damn thing because they vibrated so much. I had heard genuine ones were better so I gave it a shot. Perfectly still anywhere from idle to the highway. The chrome is also way better.

If you're thinking about it, do it.

I have bought a few Honda sets from Yamiya before covid and shipping was OK. K2-K8. I think around $20US each.

They look good but are really useless with low euro bars.
The only thing I see are my arms in leather.

To many scary moments with cars coming too close without detecting them made me to upgrade my K6 late last year.
It got same type it got in the 80's, new original Kawasaki Z1-900 mirrors.
Black, but I see the road with traffic behind me now.

The old Kawasaki mirrors from the 70's felt sturdier though.

I rode my K2 yesterday and swore about the worthless Honda mirrors.

I ordered 2 sets of Z1-900 style aftermarket mirrors in chrome and stainless today.
They will hopefully work as good as the black original my K6 got.

Important to see the road with traffic behind the bike, squad cars and similar too

I bought some K0 repop mirrors from vintagecb750 and they work just as good as any genuine 70s Honda/Yamaha mirrors I’ve ever had.

Not the best, not the worst.

This is the same seller I got them from last year. If I had something else to get from Yamiya that would have been a better deal, but I didn't at the time. Sounds like there are lots of good options out there, so maybe the lesson is more: you get what you pay for, and if your cheap repros are vibrating all over the place, it's because they're cheap repros!

+1.  I bought them for the CB900.  Crystal clear and never shake. 

The CB900C original mirrors were amazing, but one got lose and would not hold position and with the new handlebars and windshield I also needed more adjustable mirrors.

I havent sprung for a set of mirrors yet because I want to get my levers and perches figured out first....not sure if ill need the regular or the XL....im not trying to only see my arms in the mirrors....pretty sure the XL is closer to the factory honda mirror specifications. If you havent trying motogadget stuff, you wont be disappointed

Are you the type of person who buys the cheapest helmet or cheapest tire, forsaking the simple and indisputable fact that tires are the single most critical component of safety on your motorcycle. It’s the only component actually in contact with the road.

If you don’t prioritize these things, then that’s up to you. But questioning the cost of things you don’t prioritize or choose to buy is myopic. You’ve never used them so asserting they are overly expensive is ignorance on your part.

I didn’t assume a single thing. I posted a few questions about the type of person you are. It is obvious you have never used these mirrors, so you have no means of comparing them to “fine” versus “better”. By the way, I’ve met thousands of people who portend to be experts but alas they tend to only impress upon me that they’ve only stopped asking the right questions.

As is said earlier, choose what you want but it is ignorance to assume they are overly expensive.

How 'bout those little mirrors that mount to the sides of a 3/4 open-face helmet?
They are COOL with a big view of what's behind you, except you can't see the train coming on those tracks you're approaching, nor those cars coming in on the side roads, nor the ones sitting about 50 feet behind you on either side...but you can see for 1/4 mile behind you!
