I love buying bikes
« on: May 23, 2023, 01:02:56 PM »
I picked up a CB750K6 today for $3500 with only 3600 miles. If the seller had only bothered to clean it, he could have asked for a lot more. The tank is mint inside and out. Sidecovers too.

Before and after pictures taken 10 minutes apart.

Nice! Lucky for you the PO couldn't be bothered to clean it.  :)

I'm going to fix/restore/replace whatever it needs and then decide.

Hell yeah!  That must have been a satisfying hose down.

It sure was! Although the bike sat in a dilapidated garage since 1977, I could see under the layer of dirt that it was in nice condition. The paint on the tank, side covers and frame is excellent. The chrome on the fenders and wheels have some spots of surface rust that should clean up well. Unfortunately, the pipes badly rusted inside and has holes around the weep holes. I don't have much hope of making them presentable.
