How long are the oil pump bolts Please
« on: May 27, 2023, 01:09:43 AM »
G'day

I'm taking the Sumpthing off my Rickman project so that I have options of 3 different exhaust system with out modifying them.

I need to find the 3 bolts that used to hold the oil pump to the engine.

I can't find the bag of original bolts from when I fitted the Sumpthing so I was wondering if I could take the lazy way out and ask here do I need a certain length for a certain reason or just stick a bit of wire in what appear to be blind holes and work it out like that.

I can't even find where I used to look up Honda parts online through a dealer.

Thanks if you can help in any way.
Scott

Scott - CMSNL have all of the exploded parts diagrams online here:

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k0-four-1969-usa_model20233/partslist/

This is the fiche for the oil pump assy:

Three bolts are M6 x 32 according to the diagram.

Wow, nice one mate, thanks.

I didn't even think of that web site.  I never ordered from them, but I will save it to the favorites bar for sure.

Always possible to measure the depths of threaded holes. Try a bolt how deep it can go before hitting the bottom. Some bottoms can easy pop with too long bolt.

Correct type of bolt head important too.

I just made my  first order from CMSNL last weekend.  My kudos: they went the extra miles (kilos?) to get the correct superceeded-superceeded-superceeded-superceeded OEM parts for me, not a simple thing to do. And, I got the right ones first time!

Be aware different serial numbers use different length screws.

I've gotten a fair number of hard-to-find items from them for several of my bikes. They are a bit pricey with shipping and all, but they know their business and they have what you need!  :)
