These O-rings rarely fail. Mine are still the ones the bike got on the assembly line in 1976. Having the fuel system in a natural state, which is wet, certainly helps a lot. The only winter I had my carbs drained, seals shrinked and were leaking the next spring. Luckily they repaired themselves after I had opened the petcock, but it took some minutes. So first step is to open the petcock, expose them to gas and let them swell up again.
