It's time for the 3rd event in the Manufacturers Cup series. It's being contested at Alabama International Dragway in Steele Alabama this time. I haven't raced at this track in over 10 years. I understand the racing surface was redone and is very smooth and hooks great. Looking forward to competing there since it'll be run on the 1/8th mile instead of 1/4 mile. I hate the speeds associated with 1320 drag racing. I prefer the skill levels you need to compete in the 660 instead. Much less time to make corrects so you'd better cut a good light and run all of your front half incremental the same way to turn on a win light. I'm making provisions to bring out my F3 for this one. I don't have to push it as hard so with it being a little worn, I can still find consistency in street ET. I'm contemplating throwing a nitrous bottle in the mono CB and running it in the 6.0 index class at this event. I'll decide how I'm going to handle it as I move closer to race day. I'm definitely planning to enter my Kawasaki in the 5.60 index class along with racing my Softtail Custom in the V Twin class again. I got runner up on the bike at the Rockingham event. The wife wants to compete in pro ET with her Kaw dragbike so we'll have a busy weekend ahead.
If anyone on the forum live in this area of Alabama, come on out and bring your bike. Street ET is an entry level class based on handicap (staggered) starts to make slower and faster bikes on an even keel at the finish line. You'll have more fun than you could ever realize. Ask Wilbur and Billy Bling 🤣. I'll try to keep you apprised as the event unfolds. Time to charge up the go pro for some race footage.
